Meet Nicko
Nicko was born into poverty and is extremely malnourished and in poor health. He did not learn to walk until the age of four. Diagnosed with Imperforate Anus at infancy, he has lived with a Colostomy for six years and has had no medical care since the initial surgery.
He attended school for only one day in his life. Nicko's grandmother, who takes care of him, says that nobody at school can watch over him and his medical condition.
Nicko is very shy, but after coaxing from his grandmother, he did respond to questions. Was asked if he wanted to be like other kids and be able to pass waste normally, with a beautiful but shy smile he replied "yes".
With your help, Nicko received his surgery and now lives pain free.

Meet Lucia
Lucia is raising eight children on her income from washing and ironing clothes. She began to lose weight, became increasingly weak and was no longer able to work. Lucia did not have the money to pay for the diagnostic tests to find the cause of her weight loss.
